Irish whiskey and ginger are a match made in whiskey heaven. Commonly referred to as Whiskey Ginger, this popular cocktail uses good Irish whiskey and ginger ale or beer, creating a refreshing after work drink. Easy to mix and serve, it is budget friendly and an easy way to enjoy your favourite tipple. The recipe has 3 simple ingredients: Irish whiskey, ginger ale or beer and squeeze of lime.

Ingredients

  • 4 Parts Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • 3 Parts Ginger Ale
  • 1 wedge of lime

How to Make

  1. Fill highball glass with ice
  2. Pour 2 parts Jameson Irish Whiskey over ice
  3. Top up with ginger ale
  4. Stir briefly to mix
  5. Take a large wedge of lime, give it a squeeze and drop it into the glass.

From the oldest licensed distillery in the world, the Bushmills variation is called the Bushmills Irish Buck. It also features a citrus twist. This cocktail belongs to a family cocktails known as The Buck. Spruceeats.com explains that a buck drink has to have: a base spirit, ginger ale or ginger beer and citrus. Ingredients

    ·45 ml Irish whiskey

    ·7.5 ml Fresh lime juice

    ·60 ml Ginger ale

How to Make

    1.Add the whiskey and lime juice to a Collins glass filled with ice.

    2.Top with the ginger ale and garnish with a lime wheel.

You can also spruce it up and add dashes of bitters instead of lime. Or better yet, try it other types of Irish whiskeys.
