This complex cocktail is the perfect introduction to Scotland’s peaty whiskies. The cocktail uses whisky from one of country's legendary and well-respected distilleries, Highland Park. Highland Park is situated in the northern part of Orkney and has access to a unique heather peat. This location lends itself to a whisky that is described as honey-heathered sweet with smooth peaty smoke.

What you will need:

  • 2 oz Highland Park 12 Year Old
  • 1/4 oz Lustau Amontillado Sherry
  • 1/4 oz Sugar Syrup
  • 1/4 oz Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 oz Dolin dry vermouth
  • Orange Peel to garnish

Method:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice.
  2. Stir, and strain into a cocktail or coupe glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
