The book that creates the biggest hype of the year for the Whisky world is back with its latest addition. Jim Murray Whisky Bible 2017 is now available. This edition contains over 4,600 detailed, professionally analysed and easy to understand tasting notes on the world’s leading and lesser known whiskies.

This year is no different that the others. Jim Murray likes to surprise his readers and whisky enthusiasts all over the world by selecting unexpected expressions for his top list. His biggest and most shocking surprise was two years ago when he declared ‘Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013’ as the ‘World Whisky of the Year’. This selection skyrocketed the popularity of Japanese Whisky and Jim Murray, making both of them celebrities in the whisky world. He continued his unconventional selection by giving ‘Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye’, a Canadian Rye Whisky, the top spot in 2016.

His top selection for this year is ‘Booker’s Rye 13 Year Old’. He describes this expression as;

“…brain-draining, mind-blowing’ nose with a finish of ‘amazing depth’, adding that it is a ‘staggering example of a magnificent rye showing exactly what genius in terms of whiskey actually means…”

Some say that his selection criteria is based on commercial motifs to increase his book sales but whatever the main reason may be Jim Murray Whisky Bible 2017 is going to be one of the most popular reference books available on the market.
