Glenfiddich Launches Fire & Cane Edition

23-07-2018 By Whizzky Team

Glenfiddich has launched the forth expression of their Experimental series. The expression is called Fire and Cane, a peated single malt finished in rum casks.

ScotchWhisky.Com reported the launch of the fourth expression in the Glenfiddich Experimental series. The whisky is a lightly peated single malt matured in bourbon casks and finished in rum casks from the Caribbean and South America.

Glenfiddich Fire & Cane Edition has been described as having toffee sweetness with a campfire smokiness.

To take on the peat, the whisky required a bolder rum cask. Jennifer Wren, Glenfiddich US brand ambassador said their malt master Brain Kinsman “…sought out a blended rum that was more musty and goaty, and had a big personality, because…the rum notes were getting lost.”

Glenfiddich Experimental series is the distillery's innovative line of whiskies. Fire and Cane joins the Glenfiddich IPA Experiment, Glenfiddich Project XX and last year's Winter Storm; a 21-year-old single malt finished in Canadian Ice Wine casks.

Fire and Cane is bottled at 43% abv and will be available internationally from August 2018.
