Diageo Adds Lagavulin 8 Year Old to Core Range

Diageo is adding their 8 Year Old expression to their core range on Monday 13 November 2017, after the success and incredible response to the 200th anniversary bottling.

In 2016, to celebrate Lagavulin's bicentenary anniversary, Diageo bottled a successful 8 year old expression. Head of Malts at Diageo, Richard Walker said "Our aim for the 200th anniversary was to bring Islay to life for as many people as possible". They aim to continue sharing Lagavulin's heritage by adding this successful expression to their core range.

The 8 Year old expression is bottled at 48% abv and has been described as big and smoky with sweet spice. It was inspired by the visit of Alfred Barnard to the distillery in the 1880s when he tried an "exceptionally fine" 8 year old from the distillery.

Lagavulin 16 Year Old is the highest rated whisky on Whizzky App. We wonder if this 8 year old expression will be the one to topple it.
