The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Will Be Back in 3 Years

Pernod Ricard has announced that they plan on re-releasing their Glenlivet 12 year old expression in three years. The popular 12 year old was slowly withdrawn in several markets after stocks showed levels of depletion.

Chivas Brother's CEO Laurent Lacassagne said " We hit this ceiling a few years ago where we had no option at all – we had to review the portfolio. As a way we came up with this very successful brand of Founder’s Reserve which is more of an entry point whisky". Glenlivet is also currently busy with distillery upgrades which will see production rise to 21 million lpa (litres per annum) from 10.5 million lpa.

The Glenlivet 12 year old is tied with Glenfiddich 12 year old as the world's best selling single malt. Both sell over one million cases per year.
